At some of Heidelbergs primary schools the opening hours of the school´s secretariat have been cut back. This provokes that at some primary schools the secretariats are partially un-staffed for whole days.
Parents do not think that this goes well with the current city slogans like “Schools. Top grades for Heidelberg”.
At many primary schools, the secretaries are doing a valuable job and (among other things) support the principles, who therefore can focus on their essential tasks: parent-conferences, current questions of school development like inclusion, all-day school et cetera.
Furthermore, they are very important by handling doctor´s notes; check, when children are not showing up at school; take care of hurt or sick children; call the parents, if their sick child needs to be picked up.
We would like to discuss our concerns with the mayor
